What am I no longer willing to live without, REALLY?

As I get real in accepting my “new normals,” I have been asking myself two very powerful questions. The one that is reaping massive benefits is

“What am I no longer willing to live without, REALLY?”

Like NO KIDDING.

Like, I’m done with tolerating anything less than this new state of living.

First on my list? Playing the piano again. 🎹

I’ve played piano since I was young. I played piano my whole life and I put off having one in my home, but not anymore! Not only is the piano I bought totally cool for playing, but it plays music without me! I didn’t even know they could do that!! I love classical music and my piano fills my home with beautiful classical music as if I’m in a grand ballroom. It’s so delicious!  ✔️

So let’s talk about what’s in the way of you giving yourself what you love; the stuff you wouldn’t normally do for yourself but really, really want. Maybe it’s a $15 glass of champagne at a good restaurant. Is it necessary? No. But it’s luxurious and if you really love champagne, then why not? Will it completely break the bank? Nope!

My second one? I’m no longer willing to tolerate clothes in my closet that I can’t wear. Either they are throwbacks to the eighties, or they look really worn, or they are too long and need to be hemmed. So, my girlfriend entered my closet and did a major apparel extraction (I couldn’t watch!), and I bit the bullet and ordered those black pumps I need to get those damn dresses hemmed. Voila’! Thank you, Cyber Monday. Black pumps arriving tomorrow! Cost? $38 on sale down from $150.  SNAP!! ✔️

My friend, Lisa is a notoriously picky eater and asked her husband to help her make sure that they always have fresh raspberries in the refrigerator. She puts the berries in desserts, granola, yogurt, and cocktails. It’s a simple pleasure that makes everything feel a little more luxe to her.  She is no longer willing to go without her daily dose of raspberries! ✔️

My client, Claire adores cashmere. And she’s on a budget.  I turned her on to Naadam.com. Cashmere sweaters for $75.00.  She ordered hers in blue. ✔️

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. (That proverb dates back to the 1600’s. I can see why!) There is always a way to have what you really want.

Another client, Liz loves to dance and hasn’t been doing it.  When I asked what she is no longer willing to live without, she said, “I’m no longer willing to go without dancing 3 days a week. It’s gotta happen!”  So she bought a dance package at her local studio. ✔️

There’s a difference between what you are no longer willing to live without and what you’d rather not tolerate. The difference is that you are compelled to take steps to make it so.

This is a potent question that gets results! Just tell yourself that it shall be. Take yourself dancing as often as you want. Travel. Get peace around your finances. Pull focus to what you care about. It’s about love for yourself and getting the best life has to offer.

Begin to ask and answer the question for yourself!

I am no longer willing to live without…

…monthly theater tickets.

…making peace where there has been turmoil.

…meeting someone new.

…a guy who sings to me. (That’s so hot!)

…spending my time with people who matter to me.

…saying “I love you” at least 5 times a day.

…a partner who makes me laugh and makes me feel special.

…cutting people slack; especially those I disagree with.

…feeling beautiful.

Add to the list! Tell us what you won’t live without!

Because here’s the thing: we are gearing up for the new year and joyously participating in getting what makes you feel incredible is a big part of it. Focus your vision for 2020! ✔️
